What do you hope to experience at BWB 2013?
I hope to experience the sense of family from a community of folks that look like me and are following their passion. Hearing tips, tricks, and war stories are awesome - especially over drinks!
Why did you decide to start a blog?
I saw a void of science being communicated to every day people, especially minorities.Are there specific types of bloggers you are interested in connecting with at the conference?
I'd love to meet education bloggers - especially science, math, or tech.
What are your top blogging tips for other bloggers?
My number one tip is to blog consistently. Whether it's daily or a few times a week, let the readers know when they can expect content. Number two is put your email subscription and social media info in a prominent place on your blog.
Where do you see you and your blog in 5 years?
I'd love to be blogging full time in 5 years, and be connected with major science publications that are looking to reach my audience.
Do you need something from your fellow bloggers to take your blogging to the next level?
I need to figure out how to frame my content so that people are more willing to share on social networks.Do you have something to offer bloggers to help them take their blogging to the next level?
I've successfully balanced a blog and a podcast which serve two different but sometimes overlapping audiences. It can be quite a challenge and I can give tips on how this can be done.I've also successfully managed relationships with companies that send me products to review and I speak about then without losing the voice of my blog.
