Our first conference was held in Atlanta Georgia with 71 official registrants. We've quadrupled in size since then, but remain an intimate conference with an emphasis on technical mastery, networking, and best practices in social media.

Blogging While Brown 2009 CHicago, IL

Blogging While Brown is the first international conference for bloggers of color. This year the conference was in Chicago, IL June 19-20, 2009. Sponsors included AT&T, blogher, NectGenWeb.org, BlackPR.com, DailyKos.com, and Free Press.

Black Social Media Summit: Austin, TX 2013

The Black Social Media Summit is a one-day social media and blog conference filled with expert-guided workshops, panels and networking opportunities. An extension of the annual Blogging While Brown Conference, the Black Social Media Summit is designed to provide an affordable social media conference experience that strengthens local and regional Black blogging and social media communities. 

The first Black Social Media Summit was on April 13, 2013 in Austin, TX at the Oasis on Lake Travis. Plans are to expand the number of events across the world in the future.

In 2014, Black bloggers from around the country will be gathering in New York City for the 7th Annual Blogging While Brown Conference. Since its launch in 2008, Blogging While Brown has grown to become the premier blogging conference dedicated to education, collaboration, and innovation among bloggers of color. The conference brings Black social media experts, speakers, and independent content creators together to educate, inspire, and expand their influence in social media and technology.
