Our Attendee Spotlight is:

Sarah L. Webb who's blog is S.L. Writes Courageous Content

What do you hope to experience at BWB 2013?

I hope to learn how to run my blog like a business and brand myself as a writer. I’m also looking forward to experiencing the fellowship of other bloggers, particularly bloggers of color. It’s my hope that I leave the conference with a lot of new friends and collaborators.

Why did you decide to start a blog?

When I started my blog, I was also teaching high school full time. The blog was a way for me to reclaim my identity as a writer, because I had been so consumed with education. After writing a few posts, reading a lot of material about how to blog, and getting feedback from readers, I realized that this medium of blogging could change the world, and was actually already changing the world. It was the platform I’d been waiting for most of my life to connect with people and help them by way of my writing and stories.

Where do you see you and your blog in 5 years?

In five years, I want S. L. Writes to be a job creator. I want to be able to support a small team of passionate writers and techies to help me cultivate courage around the world.

I’d also like SLW to be the central hub of my professional career, including books, speaking engagements, freelance work, etc.

What are your Top blogging Tips?

My top tip is to *love* blogging. Love the people you blog for and blog with. Love it with your whole heart, holding nothing back. Be open, authentic, transparent, and daring!

This is Sarah Webb's First BWB! Welcome!
