Blogging While Brown (BWB) has grown to become the premier conference dedicated to collaboration, education, and innovation among bloggers of color and is set to host its largest conference to date in Washington, DC.

As we look forward to BWB 2010 we will take a look back at some of the past conference attendees and presenters in a featured titled, “Where Are They Now.”

This week BWB focuses the lens on blogger, entrepreneur, photographer, and graphic designer Angel Laws.

Angel is the 25 year old creator and editor of the award-winning blog Concrete Loop. She started this blog in 2005, because she could no longer stand the absence of popular culture blogs aimed at the Black demographic. The blog has seen tremendous success since its launch

One of the biggest deterrents to attending any social media conference is cost. If you attend a college or university, your school may already have established programs to pay for expenses related to conference attendance. Ask around. If a program is not already established, we've prepared a draft letter that you can send to your academic department, student affairs, or your university president's office. You will never get more than you ask for. Why not ask? We have a WORD VERSION and a PDF VERSION. Good luck if you need any assistance or hand holding, we're here for you. Questions? Blogging While Brown is about collaboration!
Blogging While Brown is about innovation!
Blogging While Brown is about education!
The purpose of the conference is to facilitate conversations that lead to collaboration and innovation among bloggers of color, African American bloggers in particular. Emphasis is placed on stimulating interaction between the attendees. All conference activities and events are aimed at fostering a shared experience which forms the basis of new relationships or strengthens relationships already in existence. Those relationships then form the basis of collaborations. Technology is important. The relationship between the attendees is more important.
