Blogging While Brown

June 21-22, 2013 in New York, NY!

Black bloggers from around the country will be gathering in New York City for the 6th Annual Blogging While Brown Conference. Since its launch in 2008, Blogging While Brown has grown to become the premier blogging conference dedicated to education, collaboration, and innovation among bloggers of color. The conference brings Black social media experts, speakers, and independent content creators together to educate, inspire, and expand their influence in social media and technology.

Volunteer for Blogging While Brown and earn Day Passes, Gold Badges and Platinum Badges. There are two types of volunteer teams for Blogging While Brown 2013. One team will allow you to complete your volunteer obligations before the conference, the other will allow you to complete your obligation during the conference.

Communications and Engagement Team

Blogging While Brown isn’t just a conference, it is a community. As a Communications and Engagement volunteer, you’ll finish your volunteering before the conference begins and be free to enjoy Blogging While Brown like any other attendee. Positions are available to manage Blogging While Brown’s various social media platforms. This includes our newsletters, blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, Tumblr, Google Plus, and Pinterest accounts along with outreach to other groups and organizations.

Community and Engagement volunteers are eligible for Day Passes, Gold Badges, and Platinum Badges depending on which projects are completed. Multiple Day Pass projects may be combined to qualify for a Platinum Badge.

Onsite Logistics Team

Get to see Blogging While Brown from behind the scenes as an Onsite Logistics Volunteer. You’ll get to meet attendees as you assist with registration, as a mic wrangler during Q&A, or as you answer questions and point people in the right direction.  Or maybe you’ll go on an adventure with conference organizers in New York City as they put together the final details of the conference.  You’ll be an important extension of the conference staff and get to work with the leadership team that runs Blogging While Brown. Volunteers will need to be available Thursday afternoon, Friday and Saturday. Local volunteers preferred. While every effort will be made to assign volunteers to work in conference sessions they want to attend, logistical needs may require otherwise. Onsite logistics volunteers are eligible for a Volunteer Platinum Badge. Priority will be given to volunteers from previous years.

Complete the volunteer interest form and your Volunteer Team Leader will provide you with additional details about available positions:
